Reginald Beason

The Vision

Transient: Dance

More than steps. A philosophy of movement.

Some people teach dance. Reginald Beason lives it — and after nearly two decades, that difference is something his students feel from the very first lesson.

A West Coast Swing specialist who competes at the WSDC All-Star level, Reginald brings a breadth of experience that spans ballroom, Lindy Hop, country, and beyond. Whatever the style, his approach is the same: movement is a language, and his job is to help you find your voice in it.

What draws students to Reginald — and keeps them — is the way he sees people. He doesn't just teach technique. He pays attention to who you are, how you think, and what lights you up. His sessions are built around you: your goals, your body, your rhythm. The result is instruction that feels personal, because it is.

Reginald believes that dance, at its best, is an act of self-discovery. He encourages his students to explore beyond what's comfortable, to ask questions, and to trust themselves — because the most beautiful dancing doesn't come from following steps perfectly. It comes from understanding why those steps exist, and then making them your own.

His impact extends well beyond the studio. During his time in the Pacific Northwest, he built a thriving West Coast Swing community from the ground up — organizing weekly social dances, developing the group class program at DanceWorks Studio, and producing dancers who went on to compete at the national level.

Now based in the Atlanta area, Reginald continues to teach privately and in small groups, working with dancers at every level — from absolute beginners finding their footing to seasoned competitors preparing for the national stage.
